Buddy Skeen, Buddy Skeen! The (now former) McLennan county tax assessor-collector pleaded guilty this week to corruption charges of misusing county property for his personal gain.

All this time I thought Skeen was innocent. That's what he said. Actually, he never said that to me because he hung up on our interview before we could really get to that point (click here to re-live the Skeen election interview). But he did say that to other news outlets and to the DA. And to voters prior to his landslide ousting in the GOP primary.
According to the Trib's account of his guilty plea, Skeen, "turned his back and stood by his attorneys without comment Tuesday evening when asked why he decided to plead guilty. Wynn [one of his attorneys] said it would not be appropriate for Skeen or his attorneys to comment while the trial is ongoing."
Skeen still has to be sentenced and there are still other charges he could face. We'll see if he ever apologizes to the taxpayers of McLennan county.
I'm not holding my breath.
