When I first saw this picture on Drudge, I thought it had to be a photoshopped picture just to make a joke about how disconnected Obama has been lately.  You know, he has time for fundraisers with Jay-Z and Beyonce and campaign events in Vegas but not time to do his job.

I was wrong.  It's an actual picture from the Obama campaign twitter account. But still kind of a joke.  It was taken in 2009 but tweeted by his campaign on "talk like a pirate" day. I'm not one to say a president can never play golf, never joke around or even take dumb photo ops at the White House.  They all do it.  But given the recent, particularly serious tone of the news, how can he be so obtuse as to think this stupid picture or his trip to Vegas as our embassies were being attacked are smart things to do?  Sure, the picture was sent out by his campaign and not the WH, but they've got to know it wasn't a good week for him on the PR front.

The answer: he knows his voters don't care.  So he doesn't care.  His voters think it's cool that he's haning out with Beyonce and talking like a pirate.  Libya?  Egypt?  The only way his voters will care about either of those places is if that's the dumb name a celebrity decides to name their next child.
