First, to all online commenters: the word is "secession" not "succession."
Now that we have that out of the way...
Before you get all excited that Texas has 90k signatures to secede from the U.S., let's put this in some context. Texas has more than 25 million people. The U.S. has more than 300 million.
At the website change.org there are plenty of causes which have far more signatures than does Texas' petition at the White House website. For example:
More than 200k people don't want Target to open on Thanksgiving night.
More than 280k people want Citibank to condemn Uganda's kill the gays bill.
More than 340k people want you to stop wildlife crime (whatever that is).
You get the point.
