Here's the first TV interview Bob Costas did since his halftime monologue on the Jovan Belcher murder-suicide and gun control.  So now I'll take back my comments on Costas being a coward and hiding behind a statement from NBC on Monday.  And Costas now acknowledges it was a mistake to try and address such a complex story with multiple societal implications in just 90 seconds and do so with a broad, sweeping statement about the availability of guns.

He's still wrong, by the way.  As is Jason Whitlock.  But I never had a problem with Costas putting his view out there during a football game.  The problem was the conclusions he drew and the lack of any real substantive thought in his monologue.
