UPDATE: Press release from the Waco PD as of Monday afternoon:
Waco Police Department will participate along with numerous local and state law enforcement agencies in assisting the funeral procession of Navy Seal Chris Kyle. The route of the procession from Midlothian to Austin will bring them through the Waco area on Interstate 35. It is believed the group will pass through our area sometime between 9:00 A.M and 10:00 A.M. The procession will be accompanied by military personnel, first responders and the Patriot Guard Riders. Several hundred cars, motorcycles and buses are expected to be in the procession.
Waco Police will block access ramps onto the southbound lanes of I-35 beginning at and ending at our city limits. The ramps will be closed approximately three minutes prior to the arrival of the procession and will remain closed until the group passes. Ramps will then be re-opened for normal traffic. Short delays are to be expected.
The Chris Kyle funeral procession is not expected to make a stop in Waco. There will however be a large contingent of Patriot Riders assembling at New Road and I-35. At some point during the passing of the procession they will travel on the southbound access road of I-35 and enter the procession at the on-ramp near Hillcrest Hospital.
This event may cause some back-up in and along the route. Citizens are asked to use extra caution if traveling in the area in the morning as there will be numerous motorcycles and additional traffic due to the procession. We are also encouraging anyone who wants to view the procession driving through our city, please be mindful of where you park and to obey traffic laws.
It is estimated that the procession will travel at a speed of around 50-55 M.P.H. Motorists traveling on I-35 will be allowed to pass the procession, but we ask in respect of the family and safety to all, that motorists pass at a speed slightly greater than the procession if necessary to do so.
Rest in Peace Chris Kyle.
UPDATE: The funeral procession will begin in Midloathian, Tuesday morning at 8am:
In a news release Saturday, Midlothian Police Chief Carl D. Smith said the procession for Chris Kyle will begin at about 8 a.m. Tuesday at the local school district’s multi-purpose stadium. It will end at the Texas State Cemetery in Austin. The procession will take U.S. 287 to Interstate 35E.
Police say military personnel, first responders and the Patriot Guard will escort the procession.
Depending on how quickly the procession travels, that should put it in the central Texas area sometime around 9-10am, give or take depending on your location.

I'll have more info on this during the Monday and Tuesday morning shows. We're trying to think of good spots along I-35 that are safe to stand. The 8th Street walking bridge has been suggested. Let me know if you have more. shanewarner@newstalk1230.com
