Rep. Bill Flores has authored a bill that would take the money dedicated for the Obamaphone program (yes it's been around for years and expanded under Reagan, Bush and others) and re-direct that money to Defense and FAA operations.

Sounds like a good idea, right?  Maybe.  That money comes from you and me.  We pay the tax, the Universal Service Fund/Charge, on our phone bills.  I'm all for defunding the government subsidized phone program.  But do it by getting rid of the tax - not by moving the money elsewhere.
