First it was McLennan County Commissioner Lester Gibson saying white people in southern states, and especially Texas, haven't gotten over the fact that black people can vote.
Now the Trib says it was the election of our first black president that made the GOP more extreme (racist):
"The nation elected its first black president in 2008. Because his aloof, anemic style of governance fell way short of the broad political outreach he promised on the stump and, yes, possibly because he’s black, the nation became more polarized. The Republican Party became more extremist. Add immigration to this volatile mix and you have a very different nation — and not for the better in terms of racial harmony."
Translation: Obama has been a miserable failure of a president who hasn't lived up to his most basic promises, but the real reason people don't like him is because he's black.
