The Obama administration has decided it's going to delay the requirement for businesses with more than 50 employees to provide health insurance by a year. The date of implimentation will now be 2015 instead of 2014. The reason? It's too complicated. (And how can Obama just up and decide a law passed by Congress should be delayed? Good question.)
Perhaps the delay is good news for those employers, but not for you. You will still fall under the individual mandate in 2014. The delay is either a brilliant political move so democrats won't have to run next year when the program would have been forced upon businesses across the country, an implicit acknowledgement that the law is overly complicated, unworkable and not as promised, or that you, Joe Q Sixpack business owner, is too dumb to figure out how it works and need more time. None of those options scream "look how great Obamacare is!"
