HEB's facebook page has been bombarded with questions and comments from Texans over the grocery chain's policies on guns. HEB, the best normal grocery store on the planet, says it's just following TABC policy.
As much as we love our guns here in Texas, our laws about them aren't very clear. Generally, you can openly carry a long rifle, you must conceal any handgun and places of business can prevent you from carrying concealed on their property wth proper signs and notifications. And that's where the rub comes. HEB does not prevent concealed carry in its stores, but some open carry advocates are finding out they don't want openly carried (long rifles) guns.
Add to all the confusion the viral sometimes not-so-true aspect of social media, and you've got one big ball of who knows what the hell is going on.
Would you stop shopping at HEB if you didn't like their gun policy?
